Tis the Season | Pink Wings
It's Christmas-shopping season again, yay!

One of my favorite gifts that I've ever given was for my hubs. When I was studying in Korea I took pictures of myself holding signs in iconic Korean spots. Each sign had exactly one word on it so that all together they created a message. At the end of my stay, I splurged and bought an expensive but gorgeous photo book so that he could flip through and read the message. It was fun both to make and give <3

I love gift-giving. There's something about trying to get into a person's head and figuring out what they would like that is so satisfying. This season I took on the challenge of giving a gift to someone I've never met in person who lives on the other side of the country: New York. I teamed up with Zappos and Jackie from Living After Midnite to do a cross-country gift-exchange. As expected, it was so much fun!

I've gotten to know Zappos from being in Vegas so often. That's where their headquarters are and they're very involved in the community so it's hard to miss them. But if you aren't as familiar with them, they are an ecommerce site with about every item under the sun, and besides that here's what you need to know: they have free shipping and free returns 365 days, next business day shipping, and the best customer service in the entire universe. Haha, but really. If you think I'm exaggerating check out their Yelp reviews ^.^ Plus I'm just a sucker for free shipping and returns.

But back to the gift exchange: I pretty much scoured Zappos' entire site because I love window shopping. While searching for Jackie's gift I came across a few ideas for other people on my Christmas list. Like these push up grips for my gym-obsessed hubby. I think he mentioned once that he wanted some. And although I'm supposed to be shopping for other people I've kinda fallen in love with this mini pie pan for myself. Omg removable bottoms are a must...anyone else as obsessed with kitchen gadgets as I am? Probably not lol.
Here is a link to the Zappos gift guide, they have really great ideas.

I ended up choosing this cozy fur vest and these earrings for Miss Jackie. Go check out her blog to see the pics!
And you can see the beautiful gift she sent me below :):) So obsessed.

Anyone else have a favorite gift-giving story?

  15. P.S. I totally get excited over baking stuff. When I first found out about springform pans, I overdid it and bought like 3 when I only needed one lolll and that pie pan is AH-MAZING. I don't think people understand how hard it is to pop those things out without scraping the pan itself or destroying the baked good >< ok. end rant.
